Buquebus has been awarded the annual Black Diamond Award at the World LNG Fuels Conference, held in Houston, Texas, USA.
The award was given to its LNG fuelled ferry Francisco, which operates on the Rio de la plata between Buenos Aires, Argentina and Montevideo, Uruguay.
The Black Diamond Award is given to the top LNG fuel project to advance technology, open new markets and achieve the smoothest execution considering the degree of difficulty.
Buquebus is Galileo’s top LNG fuel customer. Osvaldo del Campo, Galileo’s CEO, said: “We are very pleased with this recognition given to Buquebus, since we are deeply involved with their project by being the developers of the seven Cryobox® Nano LNG-Stations that will supply the LNG for its Francisco high speed Ro-Ro ship.”
Galileo’s state-of-the-art liquefiers will supply 66 tpd of LNG for the Francisco’s two daily frequencies between Montevideo and Buenos Aires, which involves the transport of up to 1000 passengers and 150 cars at cruising speeds around 50 knots.
