Gazprom aiming for new markets
The Gazprom Board of Directors has considered the company’s marketing policy in the international small- and large-scale markets for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The board also approved Gazprom’s updated LNG Production and Supply Strategy.
At the recent meeting, it was noted that Gazprom was successfully developing the company’s LNG sales and transportation sectors. In a relatively short time period, Gazprom has become a global player in the LNG trade market, and currently claims to have the experience of supply to over 10 countries worldwide. The company’s LNG sales efficiently compliment pipeline supply, allowing Gazprom to enter new gas markets.
Asia-Pacific market
Gazprom’s main efforts for expanding large-scale LNG exports are centred on the Asia-Pacific market. The company plans to expand its presence in this new market, mainly through increasing production of LNG from Gazprom facilities.
An additional focus of Gazprom’s international LNG activities is prompting the use of LNG as motor and marine fuel, as well as for household and industrial consumers.
