Containerships plc has announced that it has received a co-funding recommendation from the EU for the first four LNG-fuelled vessels that it plans to build. The outcome of the funding is expected to be confirmed during autumn 2016.
Containerships declared the recommendation as a “remarkable recognition” of its environmental strategy and investments needed.
Agreements to build the LNG-fuelled vessels have been signed. However, they are still subject to final approval of the stakeholders in this project.
The LNG-fuelled vessels are expected to be delivered during 2018.
