Norton Rose Fulbright partner relocates to Singapore

Norton Rose Fulbright has announced that Ben Smith, an oil and gas partner, is relocating to the company’s Singapore office from 1 May 2016.

Mr Smith has a particular focus on the development of LNG projects and the long-term sale and purchase of LNG. He also advises on upstream developments, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. In recent years, he has been involved with the development of a number of US LNG export projects and the marketing of LNG from those projects into Asia.

Mr Smith said: “Over the last few years, Singapore has established itself as the regional hub for LNG in Asia. I’ve been involved with a number of matters related to that process including advising various parties in connection with the development of the Singapore LNG terminal. We also have one of the strongest shipping and oil and gas offshore finance practices in the region, and as the LNG industry looks increasingly towards floating solutions, I look forward to working with the Singapore team to meet the growing client demand we’re seeing in this area. I am also looking forward to working with our other offices in South East Asia.”
