Roxtec delivers cables to Prelude FLNG

Roxtec, the provider of cables and pipe seals, has delivered cable transits for the 488 m long hull of Shell’s Prelude floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility, currently under construction at Samsung Heavy Industries’ yard in South Korea.

Roxtec cable transits are used in deck/bulkheads onboard the Prelude FLNG in order to ensure safety, efficiency and operational reliability. The company has also secured orders for topside and turret scopes.

According to Shell, Prelude FLNG will unlock new energy resources offshore and produce approximately 3.6 million tpa of LNG to meet the growing demand.
