OLT Offshore LNG Toscana has announced that LNG discharge operations into the OLT Terminal were concluded on 13 December 2015. The LNG was unloaded by the Gaslog Saratoga LNG carrier.

This activity is related to the tender launched by OLT within the procedure for the peak shaving service.

The LNG, stored in the terminal tanks, will be available until 31 March 2016. The offer for the regasification capacity is guaranteed in conjunction with the peak shaving service.

For the third consecutive year, the FSRU Toscana terminal offered the peak shaving service, which is one of the emergency measures established by the Decree of the Ministry of the Economic Development within the ‘Emergency Plan’ to counteract unfavorable events for the national gas system, which may happen during the winter period of 2015/2016, and to guarantee the security of the Italian Gas System.
