Funding for micro LNG plant

Pennsylvania state senator, Gene Yaw, announced yesterday that several local grant and loan requests have been approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), including a liquefied natural gas (LNG) production plant in Bradford County.

As part of funding initiatives, US$ 5.327 million in grants, and a US$ 2.3 million loan, has been approved for projects in Bradford, Lycoming and Union Counties.

The US$ 2.3 million Alternative and Clean Energy Program Loan was granted to REV LNG for the purchase of micro LNG production equipment located in Ridgebury Township. The company is planning to produce its own LNG in addition to transporting LNG for other producers.

The following projects also received funding:

Lycoming County

• US$ 750 000 awarded to the Lycoming County Water and Sewer Authority for water system upgrades.
• US$ 3 million awarded to the Montgomery Water and Sewer Authority for water infrastructure improvements.
• US$ 250 000 awarded to Lycoming County for the collection of private water supply samples throughout the county.

Union County

• US$ 1.25 million awarded to the Gregg Township Municipal Authority for upgrades to the Allenwood waste water treatment plant.
• US$ 77 000 awarded to the Union County Conservation District for Watershed Restoration and Protection funds to install Best Management Practices (BMPs).

The CFA was established as an independent agency of the Commonwealth to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.
