According to Reuters, Anadarko is seeking 16 long-term charters for LNG tankers to serve its Mozambique LNG project.

Having secured sufficient long-term interest from buyers, the company is due to take a final investment decision (FID) on the Mozambique LNG project in the next few months.

Anadarko currently holds export contracts for a total in excess of 9.5 million tpy, out of a possible 12.88 million tpy of LNG. All contracts have been agreed on an ex-ship (DES) basis.

Tokyo Gas, Tohoku Electric, Centrica, EDF, Bharat Petroleum, CNOOC, Pertamina and Royal Dutch Shell, are among the companies who have agreed supply deals with the project.
