GTT technology selected for PEGASIS

STX France has selected GTT’s membrane technology for the new PEGASIS (Power Efficient GAS Innovative Ship) ordered by Brittany Ferries.
The vessel, which will be propelled with liquefied natural gas (LNG), will use GTT’s Mark III insulation system. The LNG ferry is due to be delivered by the end of 2016.
GTT has also been selected to design the tanks of three other Brittany Ferries ships, which will be converted to LNG propulsion.
LNG bunkering
The order follows new European regulations relating to sulfur oxide emissions. LNG propulsion is one of the most competitive methods to help reduce these emissions.
GTT’s membrane technology for LNG propulsion also optimises space and reduces costs.
