CNM wins order from Engie

Chantier Naval de Marseille (CNM) has announced that it has signed a contract with Engie for the 10 years maintenance of the GDF Suez Global Energy LNG carrier.

The LNG carrier is now in dry dock in order to realise the 10 years maintenance works and the classification society regulation controls.

The works will start on 20 September 2016 and will continue for 15 days.

Jacques Hardelay, President of CNM, said: “With this order, CNM confirms his position on the LNG market segment and the return of Engie is a strong signal of the trust for our yard. Our commitment is to execute the works within the contractual schedule and at an optimum quality level.”

Peter Justesen, Engie Group Maritime Transport Director, added: “Engie is very satisfied to entrust this ship to Chantier Naval de Marseille, who has made the best offer in front of the international competition. We are very glad that a French yard, the one of Marseille, is able to perpetuate and develop the expertise necessary to satisfy the specificities of our industry. Chantier Naval de Marseille will probably welcome an another ship of Engie fleet.”
