COSCO Shipping and GTT renew cooperation agreement

LNG Industry,

In a signing ceremony held in Shanghai, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (CHI) and GTT recently renewed and enhanced their strategic cooperation agreement, which was originally signed several years ago.

GTT is a leader in membrane LNG containment systems and its technologies are recognised by ship-owners and shipyards worldwide.

CHI, through its shipyard Cosco Zhoushan, has already been qualified by GTT as an approved repair shipyard, and plans this year to qualify another shipyard of the group.

The shipyard, with the support of GTT, successfully upgraded its first Mark III LNG carrier in 2017, a breakthrough for Chinese shipyards in this field. Since then it has continued to market its capabilities in LNG related projects.

The renewal of this agreement will not only help GTT and CHI to face the current market challenges together, but also to provide clients with more comprehensive solutions for their projects.
