GE Oil & Gas has been awarded a long-term contractual service agreement (CSA) through General Electric International Peru to support the PERU LNG S.R.L LNG facility. The LNG plant is located in Pampa Melchorita, Peru, which is approximately 100 miles south of Lima.

The CSA will cover the LNG plant’s services requirements for 13 years. GE Oil & Gas will cover all major maintenance requirements (including parts, repairs and field services) for the LNG plant’s liquefaction train, which is comprised of GE 7EA units and compressors along with associated auxiliaries. The CSA will also cover the site’s power generation equipment, which consists of three GE LM2500+ aeroderivative gas turbine generators and auxiliaries. GE Oil & Gas will also provide a resident support team to assist with all aspects of maintenance on GE equipment and a Predictivity package for remote equipment monitoring.

The LNG plant has a production capacity of approximately 4.4 million tpy. It consists of two storage tanks, each with a capacity of 130 000 m3 of LNG. The LNG facility also has a marine terminal and a supply pipeline. PERU LNG S.R.L is sponsored by Hunt Oil Company, SK Innovation, Shell and Marubeni.

Another vendor had originally served as the LNG facility’s CSA provider after it opened in 2010.

Igor Salazar, General Manager of PERU LNG S.R.L., said: “We are pleased to sign this new CSA with GE because the original equipment manufacturer will provide the parts and repair services as well as the technical expertise of GE’s resident team of field engineers to help ensure the optimal reliability and potential increased availability of our LNG production facility.”

Edgardo Torres, GE Oil & Gas’ Region Leader for turbomachinery services, Latin America, added: “This most recent win for GE Oil & Gas is a testament to our focus, commitment, understanding and strong local and regional capabilities.”
