LNG Canada, a joint venture between Shell, Petronas, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corp., and KOGAS, has awarded TR Canada E&C the EPCM services for Phase 2 of Coastal GasLink (CGL), located in British Columbia, on Canada’s west coast.

CGL Phase 2 will be delivered through an integrated execution model. LNG Canada will lead project construction as Phase 2 execution manager, and TR Canada E&C will provide the EPCM services, while CGL will remain the owner, operator, and permit holder of the pipeline and associated facilities.

The award of this contract builds on the extensive work already performed by Técnicas Reunidas throughout the earlier phases of the project, where the company provided consulting and engineering services from the initial stages through the FEED phase.

The project includes the construction of five additional compressor stations, as well as modifications to both existing and planned facilities at various points along the pipeline route.

The scope awarded to Técnicas Reunidas includes the detail EPCM services, with an expected execution period of over four years and a contract value exceeding €200 million, representing a significant milestone in the strengthening of Técnicas Reunidas' services business.
