Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. (MOL) has announced that its recently established LNG carrier management company, MOL LNG Transport (Asia) Ltd, has started ship management operations with its first vessel.
MOL LNG Transport (Asia) Ltd was established in September 2015 in Hong Kong. In a statement, MOL said that as it becomes involved in the operation of an increasing number of LNG carriers, it plans to play a key role in ship management, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, to meet an anticipated increase in LNG shipments bound for Asia.
MOL is currently involved in the operation of approximately 70 LNG carriers, and the company intends to expand its fleet of LNG carriers.
