SGS has announced that it has recently been awarded a US$2.35 million contract to perform vendor inspection for Cameron LNG.
The LNG project, expected to be completed at the end of 2017, involves construction of natural gas liquefaction and export facilities adjacent to Cameron LNG’s already existing LNG receiving terminal near the Gulf of Mexico.
SGS will carry out vendor inspections in the US, South Korea, Italy, China, Japan, Germany, Taiwan and France.
Once completed, the LNG project’s new facilities will allow for the exportation of LNG and the regasification of imported LNG for delivery to domestic markets.
The LNG project will create new jobs in the region and provide US trading partners with access to new supplies of natural gas.
Cameron LNG recently selected Elliott Group to manufacture three compressor trains for its new LNG liquefaction export facility.
