Toll wins marine logistics contract

LNG Industry,

Toll Group has been awarded a contract by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd to supply marine logistics services. The contract is expected to generate revenues of approximately US$ 100 million over a period of five years.

The work involves logistics support for Chevron’s Western Australia operations, including the company’s LNG facility on Barrow Island, 60 km northwest of Western Australia.

Toll Group Managing Director Brian Kruger said the contract would create 50 new jobs including six management and support staff located in the Pilbara.Toll has designed, and is presently constructing, three state-of-the-art Landing Craft Tank (LCT) vessels to support Chevron’s supply chain when delivered. These larger-capacity vessels will be some of the safest and most efficient vessels of this type in the industry.

“Our innovative design includes two underdeck passages that reduce the amount of interaction between the crew and the cargo, making the vessels safer to load, sail and unload,” Mr Kruger said.

“These vessels also have larger capacity due to their three-container stacking capabilities, and our innovative double-hulled design with automated gauges makes for safer, more environmentally-friendly vessels.”

In addition to the LCT contract, Toll has also been awarded a short-term contract for the provision of a vessel to provide additional support for the carriage of fuel to Barrow Island. This vessel will commence operating within the next month.
