FKAB: LNG carrier contract now effective

FKAB has announced that the basic design contract that it has signed with Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co. Ltd has now become effective.
The contract with the Chinese shipyard, originally signed in January 2015, covers the design of a 45 000 m3 LNG carrier. FKAB has confirmed that this project is now up and running.
Pre-design of the LNG carrier was carried out by LNG New Technologies.
The extended basic design includes the independent cargo tanks, model tests, FEM calculations, as well as electrical documents and further development into design for the yards further construction. The independent cargo tanks, with the second barrier and insulation, called LNT A-Box, have been developed by LNG New Technologies.
The Chinese shipyard was commissioned by Landmark Capital to construct the LNG carrier.
