LNG Industry,
Flint Hills Resources L.P. recently submitted an application with the US Department of Energy (DOE) to export up to 3.62 billion ft3/yr of LNG to both countries that hold a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the US and those that do not (non-FTA countries).
The long-term, multi-contract authorisation application would cover a term of 20 years.
Flint Hills said that it is currently negotiating with Stabilis LNG Eagle Ford LLC for the purchase of LNG from Stabilis LNG’s liquefaction facility located in George West, Texas. The Stabilis facility has a storage capacity of approximately 270 000 gal./d of LNG, and can accommodate both ISO container loadings and tanker truck loadings. Because the Stabilis facility is operational and has the capability to loads LNG onto ISO containers, no additional plant infrastructure will be required as a result of the proposed exports.
