White paper encourages expedited LNG exports
America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) has announced the release of a new white paper, encouraging US policymakers to move quickly to approve LNG export terminals.
The paper, ‘Carpe Diem: LNG Exports Are America’s Once-in-a-Generation Opportunity’, paints a compelling picture of a US energy resource that is ready to transform global markets, increase strategic geopolitical advantages for the US and its allies and reduce carbon emissions on a global scale, while driving domestic economic growth.
Marty Durbin, ANGA President and CEO, commented: “The latest estimates confirm, again, that our natural gas supply is sustainable, reliable and large enough to last more than a century. This means the US can be a global energy leader without sacrificing our domestic advantage. But we must accelerate approval of export facilities in order to secure that role and maximise the benefits both here at home and globally.”
The white paper details the significant economic, environmental and geopolitical benefits of LNG exports, citing research which shows that such exports would result in negligible cost increases for domestic natural gas.
The report can be accessed on the ANGA website.
