ANGA statement on Cove Point LNG assessment
Frank J. Macchiarola, Executive VP, Government Affairs, for America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA), has released the following statement regarding the FERC environmental assessment of the Dominion Cove Point LNG export facility:
“This assessment by FERC staff essentially concludes that the Cove Point project can be built with no significant environmental impact. This conclusion is a step in the right direction and demonstrates that we can send clean and affordable natural gas to other parts of the world. The finding allows the Cove Point project to move forward and gets us closer to making better use of this abundant resource while also substantially improving our economy, our energy security and the environment. We look forward to the project gaining FERC’s final approval as quickly as possible.”
