Annova LNG files mid-scale LNG terminal application

Annova LNG Common Infrastructure LLC and its affiliates (Annova LNG) have submitted an application to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to site, construct and operate new liquefaction and export facilities, which will be located on the Brownsville Ship Channel in Cameron County, Texas, US.

Annova LNG is proposing to construct and operate a mid-scale natural gas liquefaction facility to liquefy domestic natural gas for export to international markets. The LNG project will include six liquefaction trains, each with a nameplate capacity of 1 million tpy, for an aggregate nameplate capacity of 6 million tpy and a maximum output at optimal operating conditions of 6.95 million tpy.

Annova LNG said that the proposed LNG project will enable the company to meet the demonstrated market demand for liquefaction and export of domestic natural gas. The company believes that the mid-scale size of the LNG facility would meet the requirements of multiple foreign purchasers whose annual demand is best met with increments of 1 million tpy. Annova LNG also points to the public benefits of the LNG project, including positive impacts on the regional and local economies.

Annova LNG said that it will minimise associated risks of adverse local environmental impacts and safety concerns.

Annova LNG requested FERC approval by 30 March 2018.
