LNG Industry,

Lloyds Register Energy is to conduct a survey of five crucial issues affecting Australia’s oil and gas future, including commercial barriers to collaboration on innovation; regulatory environment; skills and knowledge shortage; ageing assets; and inability to adopt technology.

Lloyd’s Register Energy invites visitors to their booth (U13) at Australasian Oil and Gas (AOG) to share their views and suggestions on the challenges faced. The results will then be fed into the company’s worldwide network briefings focused on connecting with institutions and companies in the global oil and gas space that can help find solutions to tomorrow’s business challenges.

Jeff Baker, Lloyd’s Register Energy’s Technical Manager, Compliance Services for Australasia, said: “These issues have been debated and reviewed but through our survey, we aim to engage with the wider global industry, and use the findings to shape a collaborative overview and informed industry voice.”

John Wishart, Group Energy Director of Lloyd’s Register, said: “We hope the campaign will be a catalyst for ongoing industry engagement in Australia which produces constructive and tangible results. Through attracting people at all levels and across all sectors in the industry from around the world, AOG 2015 provides an ideal platform to do this and we would encourage people to participate.”

The survey forms part of an increased drive to share insight in to some of the major demand, supply chain and technology challenges that the oil and gas industry is facing, as well as opening new opportunities for collaboration and solutions to key issues.
