AGDC appoints new President

The Alaska Gasline Development Corp. (AGDC) has appointed Keith M. Meyer as its new President, following a meeting of the corporation's board of directors.

Mr Meyer, who is replacing Dan Fauske, will assume his new role on 15 June 2016. He joins AGDC from LNG America, an energy logistics company he founded in 2008 to provide end-to-end LNG distribution solutions to increase the use of LNG as a fuel source within the marine, transportation and other high horsepower industries.

Meyer was previously president of Cheniere LNG where he oversaw the development of the Sabine Pass receiving terminal. He was also with CMS Energy Inc., and ANR Pipeline Company.

Dave Cruz, AGDC Chairman, said: "Keith's contribution will be immediate and impactful. He's a proven leader who understands what's at stake in Alaska, and possesses the skills and experience we need at this critical time in the development of our natural gas pipeline and LNG project […] Keith believes in Alaska and in the mission of AGDC. I'm proud to welcome him aboard." 

Meyer takes the helm of AGDC following the State of Alaska's acquisition of TransCanada's interest in the Alaska LNG project. AGDC holds the state's 25% interest in the 20 million tpy LNG export project, which includes a 3-train liquefaction facility in Nikiski on the Kenai Peninsula, an 800-mile pipeline and a 3.3 billion ft³/d gas treatment plant on Alaska's North Slope.

Mr Meyer said: "Alaska is engaged in one of the largest energy projects in North America. I'm excited by the challenge and incredibly honoured by the trust and confidence the board is placing in me […] I understand how vital the gas pipeline and LNG project are to our Alaskan economy, and I'm committed to getting them built."
