Helge Lund starts work at BG

BG Group plc has announced that Helge Lund has now joined the company as Chief Executive and as an Executive Director.

Mr Lund’s start date at BG Group was brought forward from 2 March to 9 February 2015, following a recent agreement with his former employer, Statoil, to release him from his contractual commitments.

Andrew Gould, who has been serving as interim Executive Chairman of BG Group since April 2014, will return to his role as Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 9 February 2015. 

On the announcement of his appointment in October 2014, Mr Lund said: “BG Group is a company with a strong set of assets and opportunities. I look forward to joining this organisation and working with BG’s people to develop the company’s full potential.”

The appointment followed an extensive global search by the BG Group Board, who concluded that the appointment of Mr Lund was in the best interests of the company and its shareholders.
