Linde receives letter of intent for LNG expansion project
Linde Process Plants, Inc. (LPP) has announced the receipt of letter of intent from Gaz Metro for a lump sum turnkey Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) unit for an expansion project in Montreal, Canada.
The LNG unit will produce above 200 000 gal./d of LNG and will feature Linde's StarLNG™ dual expander nitrogen refrigeration cycle.
The StarLNG™ dual expander nitrogen cycle features two expanders providing efficient liquefaction of the natural gas and subcooling of the LNG product. The technology’s refrigeration cycle offers significant advantages with short start-up time as well as wide part-load capability and efficiency.
Subject to obtaining all approvals, the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the second quarter, 2016.
