WorleyParsons nets Gazprom LNG contract
Gazprom subsidiary, VNIPIgazdobycha, has selected WorleyParsons as the engineering contractor for the development of the major Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and export facility, Vladivostok LNG.
The contract expects to bring RUR 2.19 billion (AU$ 70 million) in revenue to WorleyParsons, and includes the front-end engineering design (FEED) deliverables for two 5 million tpa LNG trains with supporting utilities and infrastructure including loading terminal topsides.
WorleyParsons will deliver the FEED documentation and provide ongoing technical support during the State Expertiza review phase. FEED deliverables are expected to be completed in the second half of 2014.
VNIPIgazdobycha conducted an extensive and competitive selection process of leading engineering and project delivery companies. WorleyParsons was selected due to its modularisation expertise, availability of leading LNG specialists and extensive 20 year experience in Russia.
“The Vladivostok LNG facility will provide a major boost to Gazprom’s supply to key Asia-Pacific markets and customers. Naturally, we are honoured to have been selected for such a critical project,” commented Andrew Wood, CEO of WorleyParsons. “We look forward to working with VNIPIgazdobycha and Gazprom helping them achieve their important goals.”
