TotalEnergies has announced the signing of agreements with PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB), PTTEP, and KUFPEC to acquire an operated 30% stake in the Lang Lebah and B14 gas fields, located in Malaysia off the coast of Sara-wak.

The Lang Lebah field, one of the largest gas discoveries made offshore Ma-laysia, and the nearby B14 field are planned to be developed as part of an integrated project. This combined development of the two fields will unlock gas resources of over 6.5 trillion ft3 (more than 1 billion boe), supplying the existing Malaysia LNG liquefaction plant with a plateau of approximately 10 billion m3/y.

“The development of the Lang Lebah and B14 resources will create a new, large scale gas hub in Malaysia, leveraging shared infrastructure to supply Malaysia LNG and thus meet the growing demand for LNG in Asia,” said Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies. “These agreements mark another important step in our strategy to strengthen our integrated gas position in Malaysia, following the acquisition of SapuraOMV in 2024 and the strengthening of our long-standing partnership with PETRONAS in 2025.

At the end of these transactions, which are subject to regulatory approval, TotalEnergies will hold an operating stake of 30% in each of the two fields, alongside PTTEP (25%), KUFPEC (25%), and PCSB (20%).
