Goldboro LNG files environmental assessment report
Pieridae Energy has announced that an Environmental Assessment report for the proposed Goldboro LNG project has been submitted to Nova Scotia Environment.
The report was completed after extensive consultation with local communities, government agencies, and engagement with First Nation communities.
The report provides a detailed description of the proposed project, outlines the existing environmental conditions, and offers a thorough assessment of potential environmental effects and how the project will moderate and/or compensate for adverse effects.
The assessment confirmed that with the proposed environmental management, mitigation, and compensation, adverse effects will be largely localised, short-term and reversible. None of the areas directly affected by the LNG project are considered critical habitat for endangered species.
The assessment also confirmed that the project will create significant economic benefits for the local community, Nova Scotia and Canada.
