Civmec secures subsea contracts for LNG projects

Civmec Limited has secured further contracts in the LNG sector, with the awards of projects for Shell’s Prelude FLNG project and the Wheatstone LNG project.

Prelude FLNG

Civmec has been awarded a master service order contract by Technip in Australia for the supply, fabrication and testing of subsea components for Shell’s Prelude FLNG development.

The initial award includes the following components associated with Technip’s installation activities on the project: eight buckle triggers and four suction piles.

Civmec CEO, Pat Tallon, commented: “This is a very exciting project and we are pleased to be involved in the world’s first FLNG project. This award further demonstrates our capability to execute projects for the Oil and Gas sector.”

Wheatstone LNG

Civmec has also been awarded a contract by Technip in Australia for the fabrication and testing of 68 subsea jumper spools for the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project. This contract consists of the fabrication of pipe spools of various materials such as CRA Inconel clad pipe, Super Duplex and carbon steel with pipe sizes ranging from 6 inch up to 44 inch in diameter. Work on weld procedures will commence immediately with fabrication expected to start later this year.

Tallon added: “We are pleased to be involved in this exciting project. Given that we are currently completing works for Technip, this is seen by us as a good indicator of their satisfaction with our service and also further demonstrates our ability to win repeat work in the Oil and Gas sector from our existing client base.”
