Civmec nets Gorgon LNG contract
Civmec has been awarded AUS$68 million of new projects for Rio Tinto, Sedgman, GE Oil & Gas and FMC Technologies, including a contract for the Gorgon LNG project.

On behalf of GE, Civmec will fabricate and test Gorgon’s new 34-in. subsea pig launcher/receiver (SSPLR) in two stages. Stage 1 works will commence immediately and involve the fabrication of a 34-in. barrel for a subsea pig receiver from supplied materials, with the complete structure weighing 104 t. Completion of Stage 1 is scheduled for November 2015. Fabrication of a 6-in. kicker header, testing of the SSPLR and retro fitting will be carried out at a later date as part of Stage 2 works.
Persephone Project
Civmec will also immediately start work on behalf of FMC Technologies for the fabrication, surface treatment and testing of a production manifold, designed for installation at the Persephone Project. The project, which is located on Australia’s North West Shelf, is scheduled for completion by March 2016.
