The Gate Terminal, an LNG import terminal at the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has announced that for the first time it has loaded two small LNG carriers at the same time.
The LNG bunkering vessel Cardissa was loaded at the dedicated small scale jetty while the ice-class Coral Energice was loaded at Jetty 1, one of two jetties that can handle both small and large scale LNG carriers. Simultaneously a record daily number of 12 LNG trailers/containers were loaded.
Since a dedicated third small scale LNG jetty and two automated LNG truckloading bays became operational in 2016 and 2017 respectively, Gate has reported a steady increase in its small scale LNG activities.
