Gazprom appoints Director General of exports
Elena Burmistrova has been appointed Director General of Gazprom Export.
The decision follows a considerable increase in the day-to-day business of the export division and its geographical expansion, as well as product diversification within Gazprom’s international activities.
Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, will supervise the international business sector as well as social development and sports programs.
“Gazprom’s geographical expansion and far-reaching plans in the foreign markets require new structural and functional decision-making,” explained Miller.
Background
Elena Burmistrova was born in Moscow and has a degree from Maurice Thorez Moscow State Linguistic University. In 2007 she completed the American Business and Practices program at Boston Northeastern University in the US. In 2009 she received her MBA degree at Lomonosov Moscow State University.Burmistrova began her career at Glencore International, in Switzerland in 1992, and then worked for a number of international companies.
Between 2003 and 2006 Burmistrova was Deputy Director of Spetsgaz, Gazprom Export. From 2006 to 2011, she was Department Head, Managing Director for Oil, Oil Derivatives and Petrochemicals of Gazprom Export.
From 2011 to 2014 she was Deputy Director General for Petroleum Products, LNG and New Gas Markets of Gazprom Export.
