B.C. welcomes new Douglas Channel LNG ownership
The government of British Columbia has welcomed the latest proposal from the Douglas Channel LNG consortium.
Rich Coleman, Minister of Natural Gas Development in B.C., has issued the following statement in response to the project’s new ownership:
“The Province of British Columbia welcomes today’s news that the partners in the Douglas Channel LNG consortium have completed the transfer of ownership and are moving forward on their proposal.
“AltaGas, who helped lead the partners to this positive outcome, has been a strong proponent for LNG in British Columbia. They are firmly committed to the project. With this greater certainty, the consortium is well placed to achieve the long-term vision for their Kitimat-based LNG facility.
“We look forward to working with the proponents, the community and First Nations to help them reach a final investment decision.”
