LNG Industry,

CB&I has applauded Cameron LNG for receiving Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) authorisation to site, construct and operate a natural gas liquefaction and export facility at the site of the company’s LNG terminal in Hackberry, Louisiana.

FERC has approved the development of the three-train liquefaction facility, which has a capacity of 12 million tpa of LNG. The authorisation will allow CB&I and its joint venture partner, Chiyoda, to access the site and begin construction later this year.

Patrick K. Mullen, President of CB&I’s Engineering, Construction and Maintenance operating group, said: “CC JV, a joint venture contractor of CB&I and Chiyoda International Corp. for the project, congratulates Sempra on this important milestone that brings us one step closer to the start of construction […] Cameron LNG will bring a large number of engineering and construction craft jobs to the Louisiana Gulf Coast, and we are proud to be a part of such an important project.”
