The US Department of Energy (DOE) has reportedly confirmed that the Alaska LNG Project will be exempt from the new ruling that changes how the DOE handles LNG export permissions.

US Governor Sean Parnell has praised this decision, which will streamline the Alaska LNG Project application.

Governor Parnell said: “This is a clear signal the Alaska LNG Project is gaining momentum […] I appreciate Secretary Ernest Moniz’s commitment to the project and am glad to hear the Energy Department strongly supports an Alaska gasline. The Alaska LNG Project will create thousands of Alaska jobs, and fuel homes and businesses from the North Slope to Fairbanks and across dozens of communities in Alaska. The secretary clearly recognises Alaska is an emerging natural gas province.”
