ENGIE promotes energy development in Mexico

ENGIE has recently concluded four cooperation agreements – two of which were signed with Pemex, one with the state-owned Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and one with the National Center of Natural Gas Control (CENAGAS).
The four Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) demonstrate ENGIE’s desire to work collaboratively on natural gas and power development projects.
The CFE agreement involves exchanging technological expertise to promote and maintain environmentally friendly developments in the natural gas and electricity industries.
The Pemex agreements involve exploration along the Pacific Coasts of Mexico to enhance the development of LNG projects, transportation infrastructures for gas via pipeline, and the possibility of executing a joint venture to commercialise natural gas.
In April 2014, ENGIE and Pemex signed an MoU with Pemex to develop natural gas and other energy projects. ENGIE and Pemex will further investigate plans to develop efficient energy and cogeneration projects, aimed at executing possible joint ventures or association agreements
