According to Reuters, Petrobras – the Brazilian state-controlled oil company – has commenced an auction to sell its LNG sale and distribution subsidiary, Liquigás Distribuidora SA.
Liquigás holds a 23% market share in the Brazilian LNG market. It is also the owner of 19 warehouses and 23 plants. Furthermore, it has a network of 4800 resale shops located around Brazil.
Petrobras claims that there is not a set date for the sale’s conclusion, but that the process is still to yield a tentative agreement with an interested party.
