Woodside Energy Ltd has released a statement claiming that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korea Gas Corp. (KOGAS) for cooperation. This extends the current partnership between the two parties, which has existed since 2011. Future business arrangements, knowledge sharing, staff secondments, joint technology studies and workshops will all be developed in cooperation by the two companies.
Peter Coleman, the CEO of Woodside, said: “The business case for continuing our cooperation with KOGAS is clear. Their capabilities and technological innovations in LNG are world class and complement Woodside’s business.”
KOGAS CEO Lee, Seung Hoon, said: “Woodside’s open-door system already gives us new business opportunities. Their outstanding capabilities as Australia’s most experienced and competitive oil and gas company will promote us to the next level.”
Currently, Woodside supplies KOGAS with LNG, which is largely sourced from the Pluto LNG facility in Australia.
