Applied Natural Gas Fuels Inc. has changed its name to Applied LNG.
In a short statement released on the company’s website, Cem Hacioglu, President and CEO of Applied LNG, said: “Whether in liquid form or as a feedstock for CNG applications, production, distribution and marketing of LNG has historically been the focal point of our company. As we increase our LNG production capabilities and expand our distribution footprint throughout the United States, we wanted our name to better reflect our business model and express our belief in the important role LNG will play in meeting America’s future energy needs.”
LNG plant in Texas
Applied LNG is the first company since 2006 to build an LNG plant in the state of Texas. The March 2014 purchase of land near the Dallas, Texas area will eventually become home to Applied’s third liquefier (after Topock I and II). This plant is expected to be operational in early 2015, with a production capacity of 86 000 gal./d of LNG and LNG storage capacity of 300 000 gal.
Applied LNG plans to build up to four additional liquefiers on this site, with each new liquefier capable of producing 86 000 gal./d of LNG. Total LNG storage will eventually reach 1.5 million gallons of LNG.
