RES was selected to supply over 800 acres of restored, enhanced and conserved wetlands in the State of Louisiana, US, during all three phases of project permitting for Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG facility. In each phase, RES presented several wetland mitigation solution alternatives and was ultimately awarded the supply of each phase independently.
The LNG project required permit approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the US Army Corps of Engineers, and numerous other federal and state regulatory agencies. Key to the project's permits is compensatory wetland mitigation, required to offset unavoidable fill to waters of the US.
"Cheniere is dedicated to restoring and preserving the marsh environment and coastline in southwest Louisiana. Part of Cheniere's success can be attributed to working with RES. They are a high quality wetland mitigation provider that works closely with regulating agencies to provide successful mitigation solutions" said Catherine Rourke, VicePresident of Health, Safety, and Environmental at Cheniere Energy.
