American LNG Marketing LCC authorised to export LNG

American LNG has been authorised by the Energy Department to export domestically produced LNG to countries that do not hold a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the US.
The authorisation allows for the exportation of natural gas of up to the equivalent of 0.008 billion ft3/d for 20 years, using approved ISO LNG containers. After considering the economic, environmental, and security factors the Energy Department concluded that exportation of this scale was ‘consistent with public interest’.
