Fire at Malaysian LNG plant

According to Reuters, a fire has broken out at Petronas’ LNG plant in Sarawak, Malaysia. The incident occurred at 0140 GMT on 30 July at a transformer at the Bintulu LNG facility. It has now been successfully extinguished.
Petronas reportedly stated that: “No injury was reported. The LNG production is not affected. Our team is currently investigating the cause of the incident.”
Recently, Reuters also reported that a small fire had broken out at the construction site for Shell’s floating LNG (FLNG) vessel – Prelude. Shell claimed that this was only a minor occurrence and would not affect the delivery schedule of the unit.
