Höegh LNG places order for eighth FSRU

Höegh LNG Holdings has ordered its eighth FSRU from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in South Korea.

The floating unit will have full trading capabitlity, a regasification capacity of 750 million ft3/d, and will be delivered at the beginning of 2018.

The agreement with HHI also includes a firm priced option for a ninth FSRU. With this latest order, the company has eight, large size and fuel efficient FSRUs in operation or under construction, and possesses the most modern FSRU fleet in the market.

President and CEO, Sveinung J.S. Støhle, commented: "After signing the long term contract with Octopus LNG […] we stay firm to our business model with the order of FSRU#8 + options. Our plan to grow our FSRU fleet step-by-step with the objective to double it by 2019 remains firmly in place.
