BG shareholders approve Shell takeover

BG Group has announced that its shareholders have approved Royal Dutch Shell’s takeover bid, clearing the way for completion of the deal.
BG’s shareholders were almost unanimously in favour of the transaction – 99.53% of voters approved the deal.
The news follows Shell’s recent announcement that its shareholders had also voted in favour of the combination between the two companies.
Shell expects to complete the transaction on 15 February 2016.
