Kaminco scoops award for LNG bunkering technology

Kaminco USA’s LNG bunkering technology has won an award for ‘most innovative product’ at Posidonia 2014.

Kaminco offers the system, which provides quantities of LNG on demand, in Greece and Cyprus, through a partnership with GNC Galileo.

The bunkering system is already in use on ferry company Buquebus’ dual-fuel vessel Francisco, which uses seven of the modular refueling units. More can be added when required.

“The system is a proven technology having been awarded the Black Diamond award 2014 in the USA through Buquebus project installation for technological innovation, project implementation, impact on the market and risks involved”, Greek media firm NAFS said.

In a further development, NAFS called on the Greek government to implement legislation to promote the usage of LNG bunkers.
