According to Reuters, South Korea is planning to construct LNG bunkering terminals at a number of its ports.
The energy ministry is reported to have said: "From a long-term perspective, we will build LNG bunkering terminals at the country's major ports where large vessels arrive and depart."
The plans will see the introduction of an LNG bunkering terminal at a public gas terminal in Tongyeong by 2017. Other facilities are expected in Gwangyang, Boryeong and Incheon.
South Korea will also begin to run bunkering shuttles from vessels carrying LNG to those vessels that need it in 2018.
