Sendai terminal re-opens
The Shin Minato LNG import terminal in Sendai City will receive its first cargo of LNG today since closing back in March, after the devastating tsunami that struck Northeast Japan in March.
The terminal was badly flooded and control panels on the first floor of the terminal were disabled, the operator has had to move all of the control panels up the second floor. The terminal is expecting to receive up to 56,000 tonnes of LNG from its sole supplier, Malaysia before March 2012.
