According to the latest Reuters report, Indonesia’s PT Pertamina is aiming to transfer its foreign gas trade business to PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) as soon as possible.
PGN became Pertamina’s gas subholding unit last year, focussing on the gas utility business.
Basuki Trikora Putra, Pertamina director, has announced that Pertamina’s trade business is currently in the process of being transferred to PGN. Putra added that the two companies were cooperating on the management of international transactions.
Syahrial Mukhtar, a director at PGN, has told members of the press that PGN will seek more LNG buyers in China. In particular, the company will reportedly be seeking to do more business with Sinopec. Mukhtar also said that Pertamina and PGN are currently seeking customers for Pertamina’s Bontang LNG plant to replace expiring contracts ending in 2020.
