According to Reuters, Iain Ross replaces Oscar Spieler, who was appointed as CEO last year after having previously led the company between July 2009 and June 2011.
Spieler will continue with the group, assisting Ross in the role of Executive Advisor until Perenco and SNH accept the FLNG Hilli Episeyo. The Board of Golar has reportedly thanked Oscar for his critical role in the inception and undertaking of the project which has delivered results close to schedule and within the allocated budget.
The appointment of Ross was earlier hoped to coincide with Episeyo’s acceptance, however Ross’ earlier arrival has in fact not hindered the process but rather accelerated it.
Ross brings 34 years of broad industry and geographic experience, in addition to a strong leadership skillset. He is expected to aid Golar significantly as the company seeks to develop its growing subset of gas to power opportunities.
