Svitzer enters Malaysian market
Svitzer has established a joint venture with SVR Marine Services, expanding into the Malaysian market.
The joint venture supports the company’s objective of entering new markets and broadening its portfolio.
SVR Marine Services is a Malaysian marine service provider, established in 2014 and led by industry players with considerable experience in the sector. The company includes agency services for harbour and terminal towage.
“Malaysian market boasts an advanced LNG industry and expanding port operations. Our objective is to supply the Malaysian market with a new standard of towage under the Malaysian flag – providing ports world-class towage. Two key priorities at Svitzer – safety and efficient operations – therefore provide for a valuable proposition to the customers in the Malaysian market,” noted Lise Demant, Managing Director, Svitzer Asia.
Abd Razak Ahmad Alkamal, Managing Director, SVR Marine Services, added: “The entry of global player Svitzer in the Malaysia market marks the maturity and readiness of local marine-related industries including port operators and the oil and gas sector to opt for world-class towage solutions.
